Filippo Caprioli

Filippo Caprioli is a Research and Development Assistant at Biohm. He is a product and material designer deeply attuned to the delicate interplay between humans and materiality. His work delves into the potential of materials, weaving them into innovative design processes that tell stories and bring function to life.

He holds a BA in Degree in Product and Industrial Design from Politecnico di Torino and an MA in Biodesign from Central Saint Martins and has built his career around the development and application of new generations of materials. At Biohm, Filippo sees the opportunity to witness and shape how innovative materials can be applied across multiple scales and environments.

Filippo is guided by nature, believing that integrating nature into our decisions leads to better outcomes that can shape a regenerative reality, thus preventing further environmental damage and fostering more harmonious relations with our surroundings.

Filippo is passionate about design, fashion and art. He specifically enjoys discovering new crafting techniques in textiles, ceramics, glass, and wood. His keen interest in nascent and ancient practices drives the way he experiences the world, and he absorbs the energies of diverse environments, whether that be London’s vibrant cultural scene, the Mediterranean, or on his further travels.

The Mediterranean Sea, with its plants, flavours, light, textures, and colours, instilled a drive in Filippo to protect aquatic systems and prevent pollutants from contaminating the environment and biota.
